Happy New Fucking Year!

1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Visited England and France, made the front page twice in one issue (yeah, bitch...that was my page!), applied to college, drew pictures of myself naked. Oh, I got my license and drove all by myself. OH, and I went to a protest. I confided in a teacher.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Last year, I made three resolutions: lose a few pounds, write a haiku a day, and donate money each month to a charity. I kept none of them all of the time, but I did write some haikus, lost some inches, and donated moneys. I haven't made any more yet, and don't think I will.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not anyone close to me, but three ofthe closest people in my life suffered through loosing friends and family this fall. So I was inadvertantly affected.

5. What countries did you visit?
England and France. I thought this would pacify me, but it only made me more travel-hungry. I'm going to Italy, Switzerland, and Germany during Spring Break.

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
Emotional maturity. This year was a real stuggle for me to pull my life together and figure out what I want. I think I've realized that if I grit my teeth and take no prisoners, I can have it all.

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Oh fuck...September 3rd. The day Colin and I broke up. Breaking up is hell, even if only for like, two days. Still, I think the break really helped me mature. I realized that I wasn't dependent on Colin and that I could handle being alone. It made me figure out a lot of my flaws, like jealousy and low self esteem. But my mom taught me that whatever choices I made I could undo and to not worry about the future. Right now, I couldn't be happier about our relationship.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I feel like I'm finally starting to grow up.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Scholastically, I don't feel as if my grades have given me much money. So I've got to work my ass off a little more for scholarship money. I covered my tuition at Mizzou, now it's time to cover room and board.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Only the emotional type.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My cute gear from London. <3

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Everyone! All of my friends are so wonderful!

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
I thought that certain people were my friends, but I think I really didn't mean much to them. I don't want to name people.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Clothes, gas, food, music, KTHXBYE.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going to London, getting the new Harry Potter book.

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
"The Internet is for Porn" because Erica always made me sing it during play practice.

i. happier or sadder? happier
ii. thinner or fatter? the same
iii. richer or poorer? no idea

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004: Sometimes your flaws are your greatest assets. Thank you, Dickinson.

39. Quote (a) song lyric(s) that sums up your year:
"I've been to the edge, I've been to the edge, yes I've to the edge. I've been to the edge...and God know if I've leapt down." Eiffel 65, "The Edge" aka, "The Ballad of Kim and Valerie"
